Morenike Vincent: A Journey of Faith, Purpose and Helping Others Live Awake

For Morenike Vincent, writing has never been simply about putting words on paper. It has been a way of helping people find their way back to purpose, faith and the life they were created to live.

Morenike Vincent is a writer, speaker, coach and Chartered Accountant whose work over the years has centred on one recurring message: people should not merely exist through life; they should live intentionally and awake to the lives they have been called to live.

It is a message that comes from personal experience.

In reflecting on her own journey, Vincent has spoken candidly about a season when she felt she was simply “floating through life.” She was working and staying busy, but many of the dreams she had carried remained only in her journal. By her own account, she entered 2015 feeling that her hope had diminished and that she had not become the person she believed she was meant to be.

That season became a turning point.

She responded to what she describes as God’s leading by starting an email-based mentorship initiative called Immerse. What began as an act of obedience became a significant moment of personal transformation. Vincent describes the experience as the point at which she became “Awake”, a word that would go on to become central to her work and message.

Since then, Vincent has continued to create spaces, resources and conversations designed to help people grow.

Her interests span faith, family, purpose, teenagers and young adults, academic excellence and career choices. She founded She’s Connected FamilyLife Network, a community for women focused on building families according to God’s design, while her work with young people has included initiatives around academic excellence, career decisions and intentional living.

Her journey has also included its share of persistence.

Before becoming a Chartered Accountant, Vincent spent years pursuing her professional examination. She has shared that story publicly as an example of perseverance, speaking about the frustration of repeated setbacks and the importance of refusing to give up on a dream. Her eventual qualification became part of the story she now uses to encourage others facing their own difficult seasons.

Writing has naturally become another expression of that calling.

Her earlier books include Academic Excellence Devotional, a resource developed to help young people pursue academic excellence while growing in their relationship with God, and Delighting in God, which encourages readers to cultivate a deeper walk with God.

Now, Vincent is adding two new books to that body of work: Like Mary in a Martha Driven World and God Is Not Done With You Yet.

The titles themselves capture two themes that have appeared repeatedly throughout Vincent’s work, the tension between doing and being, and the reminder that a difficult or unfinished season does not mean that the story is over.

For Vincent, that message is personal.

Years ago, she wrote about learning to move from simply doing things for God to developing a deeper intimacy with Him. That desire for a more meaningful spiritual life has remained a recurring thread in her writing.

Her latest books therefore feel less like a departure and more like another chapter in a journey that has been unfolding for years.

From a young woman who once felt she was merely watching her life rather than actively living it, to a Chartered Accountant, author, speaker, mentor and community builder, Morenike Vincent’s story is ultimately one of awakening, and of using that awakening to help others find their own.

With these new books, she continues to do what has become the heart of her work: use her words to remind people that their lives have purpose, that growth is possible, and that there is still more to their story.
